Our Approach

We are psychotherapists using art, drama and play as a way of communication. We work in a child-led way, listening to what the child is saying through their creative expression, and responding accordingly to ensure we work at the child's pace. We are consistent, reliable, transparent and kind so the child gets to know that we can be trusted.

Our therapy room provides a safe, confidential space in which to

explore difficult thoughts and feelings.

Often, we are working with very early unconscious traumatic memories which are stored in the body and communicated through play, body language and art making.

Children are free to explore the materials and the room.
They are invited to use different media in any way they choose, within agreed boundaries. This facilitates the child to find their own way of processing trauma and communicating what they need to.

We work with life story material towards congruent narratives for the child. Supporting the child to hear and assimilate their story and process feelings around it.

We often work dyadically – with parent and child together. Through this approach we can strengthen the attachment relationship and increase parent attunement to the child’s needs.

We teach Therapeutic Parenting to support positive change through therapy and provide a forum for parents to share their experiences and connect with others whose children we are working with.

Our approach is, well - approachable...

We are down to earth, open and personable,

and will get alongside you to help you help your child.
